STORYLINE: Ellen, a former marine with a traumatic past, finds herself deeply connected to her student advisee, Shannon. When Shannon does not show up for a scheduled meeting and then is absent from her classes, Ellen’s concern for her safety is met by skepticism by other faculty. Ellen’s past trauma is triggered, compelling her to take action. Drawing on her military background and personal experiences, Ellen enters a fierce battle to uncover the truth and rescue Shannon. With determination and resilience, she embarks on a journey filled with danger and sacrifice, driven by her unwavering commitment to protecting those in need. As Ellen confronts the shadows of her past and the challenges of the present, she must navigate a path fraught with uncertainty, where the bonds of love and duty are put to the ultimate test.

[MICHAEL] 40 to 50s, Black man. Intelligent and academic, successful and committed to the rules, Provost Michael Johnson has been seeing Ellen for a few months, but hopes they might soon take their relationship public. Though sympathetic, his privileged upbringing makes it hard for him to understand why Ellen is so determined to find a single student. Ultimately, Michael realizes that helping the one he loves is more important than following the rules...SUPPORTING (4)

FEE-FEE] 35 to 44 years old, Hispanic woman. Tattooed, street-hardened, beautiful and fearless, Felicia a.k.a. "Fee-Fee" is a survivor of trafficking, and has dedicated much of her adult life to helping others in need. While running a boxing gym, Fee-Fee begins to investigate King and his crew by going undercover in the trailer park. She plans to team up with Ellen, but is found out and attacked...SUPPORTING (42)

[ALEX] Looks 19 to 21 years old, Black, woman, nonbinary. Outgoing and creative, Alex is a college student, dancer, and one of Shannon's few friends on campus. Hoping to encourage Shannon to meet new people, Alex invites her to an artists event - but grows concerned when she sees Shannon leaving with a mysterious man...SUPPORTING (3)

[HORSE] 25 to 35 years old, all ethnicities man. A hardened man with a strong physique and a horse tattoo on the back of his bald head, "Horse" is a trafficker and a member of King's crew. Prone to violence and quick to anger, Horse instills fear in the girls they've captured...SMALL SUPPORTING (30)

[WRIGLEY] 30 to 40s years old, Black, Hispanic, Mixed Ethnicity, White man. Hardened, wiry and nervous, always chewing gum, Wrigley is a trafficker and a member of King's crew. He keeps his eye on the girls and does whatever King says...SMALL SUPPORTING (30)

[PINKY] Looks 19 - 21, Black woman. Shannon first recognizes "Pinky" due to her neon pink hair while she talks with King at the food truck. Later, it is discovered that Pinky has been kidnapped, trafficked, and badly abused. When Ellen attempts to rescue her, Pinky is heavily drugged and becomes hysterical...SMALL SUPPORTING (3)

[CAMPUS POLICE CHIEF] 50 to 65 years old, Black. Straight-forward and somewhat cynical, the campus police chief is skeptical of Ellen's concern the first time she reports a student missing, considering how many trivial matters become an issue on campus every day. Eventually, he realizes Ellen may have reason to be concerned and does the right thing...SMALL SUPPORTING (43)

[CARLOS] 50 to 55 years old, Latino man. A hard working and humble mechanic, Carlos owns an auto shop and junkyard where Shannon has been staying and working for years. After her dad disappeared, Carlos made sure Shannon had a place to rest her head...9 lines, 3 scenes (52)

[DREADLOCKS] 19 to 22 years old, Black man. An outgoing, matter of fact frat boy with dreadlocks, he's the life of the party on campus. He answers a few questions for Ellen as she searches for Shannon, but doesn't have much information to offer...8 lines, 3 scenes (4)

[DEAN MILES] 55 to 65 years old, Black woman. The well-respected Dean of Students, Dean Miles has a good reputation on campus. When Ellen pays her a visit to discuss a missing student, Dean Miles offers little help, suggesting sometimes students simply drop out...1 speech & 9 lines, 2 scenes (2)

[DR. OLATUNDE] 60 to 65 years old, African man. A tenured professor, grim and stern, Dr. Olatunde becomes defensive and indignant when Ellen asks him about a student in his class and accuses him of a lack of care...1 speech & 6 lines, 2 scenes (10)

[BUDDY-PETE] 50 to 60 years old, Black man. An unhoused man, filthy and worn down with vacant eyes and apprehensive energy, Buddy-Pete is Shannon's father.
